Heatmap Case Study
The brief: The constantly changing global face of scientific studies means that providing satisfying, accurate, real time, UI/UX user interactions is a complex challenge. This project devised a solution for breast cancer studies.
The solution: A graphic representation of a global map forms the base of ITTB’s concept. Real time data is captured, cleansed for authenticity and improved with global location qualifiers using a custom, ITTB-developed API. This API interacts with publically available data repositories and dynamically exports these figures in near real time, creating an authentic, up-to-date view of breast cancer studies: a Heatmap of the specifics of who is doing what in each part of the world. In addition to the visual picture, the engaging Heatmap data is available for download into Excel spreadsheets or PDF documents for a wide range of uses, including statistical analyses.
The unique architecture of Heatmap supports a standalone environment—independent of any 3rd party, provider-based, data storage software. Another feature is the collaboration of the API and enabled caching: not only is real time data brought into the Web page, but load times are faster, giving an optimum UI / UX user experience.
